Most cars on european market already feature better mileage than american cars. European gasoline cars use around 23-28 miles per gallon in city (8-10 litres/100 km) and little better on highway (30 mpg or 8 litres/100 km), while diesel cars even excell that with to 38-42 mpg in city (6-7 litres/100 km) / 42-47 mpg highway (5-6 litres/100 km).

So when we are talking about hybrids, there are some interesting obvious things to notice. First - Japan manufacturers do not like diesel. 2- First generation of hybrid Toyota Prius just caught mpg of an average diesel cars… Nothing special, besides higher price of car and all the buzz and hype it generated.

So, electric car is bringing: cleaner and very economical cars for US market, and cleaner cars for EU market.

Also to note are greener future, higher economy, less noise, more fun to drive (if powerful)…
